Lucia Carbines is a professional contortionist and aerialist originally from New Zealand who grew up in Australia. She started dance at age 4, progressed through calisthenics and horse vaulting (winning the national title in 2007), and discovered her natural contortion ability at 14 when she began training at Aerial Angels. By 17 she was performing professionally. She was discovered by Spiegelworld at 17 while performing a high-wire motorbike-trapeze stunt. She became known as 'Miss A in a Bubble' and 'the New York Pretzel' performing in Spiegelworld's Empire show across Australia, Tokyo, New Zealand and North America, and in Absinthe and Opium in Las Vegas. She has 16+ years of professional performance experience and 13+ years with Spiegelworld. She has specialised in contortion, lyra, trapeze and silks. She also teaches mobility workshops.
