Jean Roubieu is a circus artist specialized in the hoop-contortion from the National Circus School in Montreal. They started their journey in the circus world with the trapeze, but their true passion lied in contortion. However, they faced a challenge as there were no available teachers for contortion at the time. Undeterred, they took it upon themselves to work on their flexibility independently and explored other aerial disciplines in the process. The allure of aerial arts captivated them, leading them to perform their first trapeze cabaret act. They also ventured into aerial silks and, upon returning to their second year of circus training, discovered the mesmerizing world of the hoop. Instantly, they fell deeply in love with it, realizing that they wanted to pursue their circus journey primarily with the hoop, while still cherishing their passion for contortion.
