Interview with Hermenegildo Gomes

‍Hey Hermenegildo! What got you interested in Contortion to begin with?

What made me curious about doing contortion was Alexey Goloborodko, when I saw him I just fell in love and I decided I wanted to be a contortionist.

How long have you been performing?

I already performed on Got Talent Portugal in 2020 and now I'm working at Evolution Circus where I have worked for a few months.

What have been your biggest challenges as a performer so far?

The biggest challenges as a performer for me is to try and make everything perfect, I know that's basically impossible but I try to make everything as perfect as possible.

What or which performance was most memorable to you?

The most memorable performance for me was at got talent Portugal

How would you describe your performance style?

I describe my style of performance as free I love to do things free

Are you performing with a show or solo currently?

Currently I am working in Evolution Circus and yes I do my performance solo

What advice would you give young people trying to get into performing?

The advice I give to young people who want to perform and be calm and focused that everything will go well

Do you have a coach currently?

I've never had a teacher, and everything I know how to do I learned on my own

What does your daily/weekly training schedule look like?

My training schedule is that I start weight training, then I do ballet and finally I do contortion. That gives me about 8 hours of work to do.

What does your typical day of training look like?

Well I don't have a typical day of training, I just train what I feel like training that particular day
